Meet Poppy!
UPDATE: Poppy has been welcomed by her new family!
Poppy is a sweet 11 month old Welsh Springer Spaniel ready to join her new family. She is from our Quinn x Dylan litter and will make a wonderful family companion, with the traits and qualities of a performance prospect as well.
How do we know this? Poppy comes from a carefully planned breeding with a focus on not only the complimentary pedigrees of the sire and dam, but also their temperaments, structural soundness, coats and health testing by veterinary specialists. In addition, we did a structural evaluation of each puppy in Poppy's litter and temperament tested them at seven weeks old, as we do with all our litters. We rely on the data gathering and analysis during and after the structural and temperament tests, as well as observations we make as we raise the puppies. All of this combined gives us a good sense of the strengths of each puppy, where owners should focus on in their socialization and training plans and the suitability of each puppy with the families on our wait list.
Here are a few things we know about Poppy:
She is a biddable, bright, fast learner who loves working with her people. Training, whatever the focus (tricks, manners, dog sport etc), is her jam.
Very courageous, this resilient dog with the self confidence to compliment these traits, is a stable, sound young dog.
Her high people focus makes training with her a fun experience. It also lends to a dog that is a pleasure to raise as she is game for pretty much any activity her family plans with her.
She is an energetic dog as most sporting breeds are, but in the context of the breed in general, Poppy's energy level is moderate.
She approaches life with optimism, is a bit goofy at times and puts a smile on our faces every day.
Her new family will go home with a much more detailed Evaluation Outcome and Suggested Training and Socialization Plan that not only reports on her structural and temperament test, but also gives ideas on where to focus their training and socialization activities with her.
Poppy will do well with an active family who wants to welcome a sweet young dog to join them in their daily activities and if they are interested, engage in dog sports with her. She is current on all of her veterinary care, is crate and house trained and gets along with other dogs. She is microchipped, registered with the Canadian Kennel Club and will join her new family with 30 days of pet insurance with Trupanion.
